100 Proof (Aged in Soul) was an American R&B group formed in Detroit in the late 1960s. The group's name referred to the high alcohol content of "100 proof" liquor, symbolizing their powerful and soulful music. They were signed to the Hot Wax Records label, which was co-owned by famed songwriting and producing team Holland-Dozier-Holland.


100 Proof (Aged in Soul) gained popularity in the early 1970s with their hit single "Somebody's Been Sleeping," which reached number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The group was known for their smooth harmonies and energetic performances, blending elements of soul, funk, and disco. Despite several lineup changes over the years, 100 Proof (Aged in Soul) continued to release music and tour throughout the 1970s.
