10,000 Maniacs is an American alternative rock band that was formed in 1981 in Jamestown, New York. The band's original members included lead singer Natalie Merchant, bassist Steven Gustafson, keyboardist Dennis Drew, guitarist Robert Buck, and drummer Jerome Augustyniak. The group gained popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s with hits such as "These Are Days," "Because the Night," and "Candy Everybody Wants."
