2nd II None is an American hip-hop duo consisting of cousins KK (born KK King) and Gangsta D (born DeMonicka Smith). They emerged from Compton, California, and gained recognition in the early 1990s as part of the West Coast hip-hop scene. The duo was associated with DJ Quik and signed to his label, Profile Records.
2nd II None released their debut album, "2nd II None," in 1991. The album featured production by DJ Quik and received critical acclaim for its smooth West Coast sound and laid-back delivery. Their most popular single, "If You Want It," became a hit and helped to establish the duo as rising stars in the rap industry. Despite their early success, 2nd II None never achieved mainstream commercial success on the level of some of their peers. They released a few more albums in the following years before fading from the spotlight.
