The group gained popularity in the late 1950s with their hit song "In the Still of the Night," which reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1956. The song has since become a doo-wop classic and has been covered by numerous artists.

Despite some lineup changes over the years, the 5 Satins continued to perform and record music, releasing several albums and singles throughout the 1960s and beyond.
