A Flock of Seagulls is a British new wave band formed in 1979 in Liverpool. The band's original line-up consisted of Mike Score (vocals, keyboards, and guitar), Ali Score (drums), Frank Maudsley (bass), and Paul Reynolds (guitar). They are best known for their hit single "I Ran (So Far Away)," which peaked at number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1982.
The band's distinctive sound, characterized by Mike Score's unique hairstyle and synthesizer-driven music, helped them gain popularity during the 1980s. A Flock of Seagulls released several albums throughout the 1980s, including their self-titled debut album in 1982.
