A Taste of Honey was an American R&B and disco group formed in Los Angeles in 1971. The group was composed of Janice Marie Johnson and Perry Kibble. Their music blended elements of disco, soul, and funk, and they are best known for their hit single "Boogie Oogie Oogie," which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1978. The song also won the group a Grammy Award for Best New Artist.
A Taste of Honey released several albums throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s, with their music often characterized by catchy melodies and Johnson's soulful vocals. While "Boogie Oogie Oogie" remains their most well-known song, the group also had other charting hits such as "Sukiyaki" and "Rescue Me."
