Artist Bio:
A Tribe Called Quest is an American hip hop group formed in 1985 in Queens, New York City. The group is composed of rapper/producer Q-Tip (Kamaal Fareed), rapper Phife Dawg (Malik Taylor), and DJ/producer Ali Shaheed Muhammad. A Tribe Called Quest is known for their innovative approach to hip hop music, blending jazz samples with socially conscious lyrics and laid-back, smooth flows. They are considered pioneers of alternative hip hop and jazz rap.


A Tribe Called Quest released their debut album, "People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm," in 1990, which was followed by several critically acclaimed albums such as "The Low End Theory" (1991) and "Midnight Marauders" (1993). The group disbanded in 1998 but reunited in 2006 and continued to release music and perform live shows until Phife Dawg's death in 2016. A Tribe Called Quest is widely regarded as one of the most influential hip hop groups of all time.
