ABBA is a Swedish pop group formed in Stockholm in 1972 by members Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. The group's name is an acronym of the first letters of their first names. They became one of the most commercially successful acts in the history of popular music, topping the charts worldwide from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. ABBA's music is known for its catchy tunes, harmonies, and emotional depth, often featuring themes of love, relationships, and heartbreak.


ABBA is best known for hits such as "Dancing Queen," "Mamma Mia," "Take a Chance on Me," and "Waterloo." They won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with the song "Waterloo," which launched their international career. ABBA's music continues to be popular today, and they have sold over 150 million records worldwide. The group disbanded in 1982 but made a comeback in 2018 with the announcement of new music and a virtual tour.
