After 7 is an American R&B group that was formed in 1987 by brothers Melvin and Kevon Edmonds, along with Keith Mitchell. The group gained fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s with hits such as "Ready or Not," "Can't Stop" and "Nights Like This." Their music is characterized by smooth harmonies and soulful vocals, which helped them establish a loyal fan base.
After 7 released three successful albums in the 1990s, including their self-titled debut album in 1989, followed by "Takin' My Time" in 1992 and "Reflections" in 1995. The group went on hiatus in the late 1990s but reunited in 2006 with a new member, Jason Edmonds, taking over for Keith Mitchell. After 7 continues to perform and release music, maintaining their reputation as one of the prominent R&B groups of the late 20th century.
