After 7 is an American R&B group that was formed in 1987 by brothers Melvin and Kevon Edmonds, and Keith Mitchell. The group gained popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s with hits such as "Ready or Not" and "Can't Stop." Their music is known for its smooth harmonies and soulful vocals, which helped define the New Jack Swing sound of that era.
After 7 released three albums in the 1990s, including their self-titled debut album in 1989, which was certified platinum. The group went on hiatus in the late 1990s, but reunited in 2015 with a new member, Jason Edmonds, replacing Melvin. After 7 continues to perform and record music, keeping the spirit of R&B alive for old and new fans alike.
