Al Martino was an American singer and actor, born Alfred Cini on October 7, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is best known for his hit song "Here in My Heart," which was the first number one single on the UK Singles Chart in 1952. Martino continued to have success in the music industry with several other chart-topping hits, including "Spanish Eyes" and "Can't Help Falling in Love."
In addition to his music career, Martino also acted in films and television shows. He appeared in the film "The Godfather" in 1972, playing the role of Johnny Fontane, a singer and actor. Martino also had a successful career performing in Las Vegas and continued to release music throughout the years. He passed away on October 13, 2009, leaving behind a legacy as a talented singer and entertainer.
