Artist Bio:
Al Martino was an American singer and actor, born on October 7, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He began his career as a singer, achieving his first major success with the hit song "Here in My Heart" in 1952, which made him the first American artist to top the UK Singles Chart. Martino continued to have several chart-topping hits throughout the 1950s and 1960s, including "Spanish Eyes" and "Can't Help Falling in Love."


In addition to his successful music career, Martino also ventured into acting and appeared in several films, including "The Godfather" in 1972, where he played the role of Johnny Fontane. He also had a recurring role on the TV series "The Godfather: The Series." Al Martino passed away on October 13, 2009, leaving behind a legacy of iconic music and contributions to the entertainment industry.
