Artist Bio:
Al Martino was an American singer and actor, born on October 7, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He began his career as a singer, achieving fame with his hit single "Here in My Heart" in 1952, which was the first number one single in the UK Singles Chart. He continued to release successful songs throughout the 1950s and 1960s, including "Spanish Eyes" and "I Love You Because."


In addition to his music career, Al Martino also pursued acting and appeared in several films, most notably portraying Johnny Fontane in the classic movie "The Godfather" and its sequels. He received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in the first film. Martino continued to perform and record music throughout his career, gaining a loyal fan base and leaving a lasting impact on the music industry before his passing on October 13, 2009.
