Al Wilson was an American soul singer and songwriter, born on June 19, 1939 in Mississippi. He is best known for his hit single "Show and Tell," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1974. Wilson began his music career in the 1960s as a member of the group Johnny Rivers' band, and later pursued a solo career. He released several albums throughout the 1970s, including "Weighing In" and "La La Peace Song."
In addition to "Show and Tell," some of Al Wilson's other popular songs include "The Snake" and "I've Got a Feeling (We'll Be Seeing Each Other Again)." Wilson's soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics earned him a devoted following, and he continued to perform and record music until his untimely death on April 21, 2008 at the age of 68.
