Alabama is an American country music band that was formed in Fort Payne, Alabama in 1969. The band was originally composed of Randy Owen (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Teddy Gentry (bass, backing vocals), and Jeff Cook (lead guitar, fiddle, keyboards). They were later joined by Mark Herndon on drums. Alabama is known for their Southern rock and country sound, and they have had numerous hit singles on the country music charts, including "Mountain Music," "Song of the South," and "Dixieland Delight."


Alabama has achieved great success in the country music industry, winning multiple Grammy Awards, Country Music Association Awards, and Academy of Country Music Awards. They have released over 30 albums and have sold over 75 million records worldwide. Alabama is considered one of the most successful bands in country music history and has been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
