Alan Parsons is a British audio engineer, producer, and musician, born on December 20, 1948. He began his career at Abbey Road Studios in London, where he worked on iconic albums such as The Beatles' "Abbey Road" and Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon." Parsons gained fame as a producer and engineer for his work on the latter album, which became one of the best-selling and most critically acclaimed albums of all time.

In 1975, Parsons formed The Alan Parsons Project with Eric Woolfson, creating a progressive rock band known for their concept albums that combined rock music with elements of pop, classical, and electronic music. The band released several successful albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" and "Eye in the Sky."
