Artist Bio:
All Star Tribute is a musical project that was put together to raise money for the United Way's September 11th Fund in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the United States. The project was spearheaded by producer and rapper Wyclef Jean and featured a large ensemble of popular musicians and artists coming together to record a charity single titled "What's Going On." The single was a cover of the Marvin Gaye classic and aimed to promote unity and support for the victims and families affected by the tragic events of September 11, 2001.
Some of the notable artists who participated in the All Star Tribute project included Britney Spears, Destiny's Child, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Christina Aguilera, Mary J. Blige, Nelly, Ja Rule, and Gwen Stefani, among others. The single was released in 2001 and received positive reception for its message of hope and solidarity, as well as for its charitable efforts to support those impacted by the 9/11 attacks.
