Allan Clarke is a British musician, best known as the lead singer of the rock band The Hollies. Born on April 5, 1942, in Salford, Lancashire, England, Clarke was a founding member of The Hollies in 1962. He was known for his distinctive high-pitched voice and played a key role in the band's success during the 1960s and 1970s. Clarke was the lead vocalist on many of The Hollies' hit songs, including "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" and "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress."
In addition to his work with The Hollies, Allan Clarke also released solo albums and collaborated with other artists. He left The Hollies in 1971 to pursue a solo career but later rejoined the band in 1973. Clarke continued to perform and record with The Hollies until his retirement in 2000. Allan Clarke's contributions to the music industry have left a lasting impact, and he is remembered as one of the iconic voices of the British Invasion era.
