Artist Bio:
Allan Sherman was an American comedy writer, television producer, and singer-songwriter born on November 30, 1924, in Chicago, Illinois. He is best known for his humorous song parodies, particularly the album "My Son, the Folk Singer," which became the top-selling album in the United States in 1963. Sherman's unique style of musical comedy often featured clever wordplay and cultural references, and he gained a large following for his witty and satirical songs.

Throughout his career, Allan Sherman released several successful albums, including "My Son, the Celebrity" and "My Son, the Nut." He also wrote the popular song "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh," a comical ode to summer camp life, which became a hit in 1963. Despite his success in the 1960s, Sherman's popularity waned in the following years, and he passed away on November 20, 1973, at the age of 48. Allan Sherman's legacy lives on through his influential contributions to musical comedy and satire.
