Alvin and the Chipmunks is a fictional musical group created by Ross Bagdasarian Sr. in 1958. The group consists of three animated anthropomorphic chipmunks named Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. The characters were featured in a successful animated television series, as well as several movies and albums.
The voices for the chipmunk characters were originally provided by Bagdasarian himself, who used a sped-up recording technique to create the high-pitched voices. The Chipmunks are known for their hit songs such as "The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)" and "Witch Doctor." The franchise has remained popular over the years, with various adaptations and revivals keeping the Chipmunks in the public eye.
