The Amazing Rhythm Aces are an American country rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1974. The band's original lineup consisted of Jeff Davis, Butch McDade, Billy Earheart, Russell Smith, and James Hooker. They are best known for their hit single "Third Rate Romance" which reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1975. The band's music is characterized by a unique blend of country, rock, blues, and pop influences.


The Amazing Rhythm Aces released several albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including "Stacked Deck" and "Too Stuffed to Jump." They won a Grammy Award for Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group in 1976 for their song "The End is Not in Sight." The band continues to perform and record music, with some lineup changes over the years.
