Artist Bio:
Animotion is an American new wave band formed in 1983 in Los Angeles, California. The original lineup consisted of lead singer Astrid Plane, keyboardist Paul Antonelli, bassist Charles Ottavio, guitarist Don Kirkpatrick, and drummer Frenchy O'Brien. They achieved commercial success in the mid-1980s with their self-titled debut album, released in 1984. The album featured their biggest hit single, "Obsession," which reached number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States.
Animotion released two more albums in the 1980s, "Strange Behavior" in 1986 and "Animotion" in 1989, before disbanding in the early 1990s. The band reunited in 2001 with a new lineup and has continued to perform and release music sporadically since then. Despite several lineup changes over the years, Animotion remains known for their catchy synth-pop sound and unforgettable hit song "Obsession."
