Anne Murray is a Canadian singer who was born on June 20, 1945, in Nova Scotia, Canada. She rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s with her soft country-pop sound and has since become one of the most successful female artists in country music history. Murray has released over 30 studio albums and has sold more than 55 million records worldwide. She is known for hits such as "Snowbird," "You Needed Me," and "Could I Have This Dance."
Throughout her career, Anne Murray has won numerous awards, including four Grammy Awards, 24 Juno Awards, and three American Music Awards. She was the first Canadian female solo artist to reach No. 1 on the U.S. charts and was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1993. Murray retired from performing in 2008 but continues to be a beloved figure in the world of country music.
