Anne Murray is a Canadian singer who was born on June 20, 1945, in Nova Scotia, Canada. She is known for her soprano voice and has been described as one of the world's top popular female singers. Murray began her career in the 1960s and gained international fame in the 1970s and 1980s with hits like "Snowbird," "Could I Have This Dance," and "You Needed Me."

Throughout her career, Anne Murray has won numerous awards, including four Grammy Awards, 24 Juno Awards, and three American Music Awards. She was the first Canadian female solo singer to reach No. 1 on the U.S. charts and has sold over 55 million records worldwide. Murray was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1993 and the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 2011. She retired from performing in 2008 but continues to be recognized as one of Canada's most successful and beloved artists.
