Anne Murray is a Canadian singer known for her soprano voice and country-pop style. She was born on June 20, 1945, in Springhill, Nova Scotia. Murray began her music career in the 1960s and went on to become one of the most successful female artists in country music history. She has released numerous albums and singles, many of which have topped the charts in both Canada and the United States.
Murray is best known for hits such as "Snowbird," "You Needed Me," and "Could I Have This Dance." Throughout her career, she has won numerous awards, including four Grammy Awards and 24 Juno Awards. Murray was also inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1993. She announced her retirement from performing in 2018, after a successful career spanning over five decades.
