Anne Murray is a Canadian singer known for her country and pop music. Born on June 20, 1945, in Nova Scotia, she rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s with hits like "Snowbird," "You Needed Me," and "Could I Have This Dance." Murray has released over 30 studio albums throughout her career, earning her numerous awards and accolades, including four Grammy Awards and 24 Juno Awards. She was the first Canadian female solo artist to reach No. 1 on the U.S. charts and has sold over 55 million records worldwide.


In addition to her successful music career, Anne Murray has also made appearances on television and in films. She was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1993 and the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016. Murray's distinctive voice and heartfelt performances have solidified her as one of Canada's most beloved and enduring musical talents.
