Anne Murray is a Canadian singer who achieved international fame in the 1970s and 1980s. Born on June 20, 1945, in Nova Scotia, Canada, she started her career in the mid-1960s and became one of the most successful female artists in country music history. Murray has released numerous albums and singles throughout her career, winning several Grammy Awards, Juno Awards, and American Music Awards.


Her breakthrough came with the hit song "Snowbird" in 1970, which reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Murray continued to produce successful albums and singles, including "You Needed Me," "Danny's Song," and "Could I Have This Dance." Known for her smooth, soothing voice and versatile music style that spans country, pop, and adult contemporary genres, Anne Murray has sold over 55 million records worldwide. She was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1993 and the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016. Murray retired from touring in 2017 but remains a beloved figure in the music industry.
