Annette Funicello, known as Annette with The Afterbeats, was an American actress and singer born on October 22, 1942. She began her career as one of the most popular Mouseketeers on the original Mickey Mouse Club television series. In the late 1950s, she signed a contract with Walt Disney and transitioned into a successful career in music, releasing hit singles such as "Tall Paul" and "Pineapple Princess."


Annette with The Afterbeats was a collaboration between Funicello and her backing band, The Afterbeats. Together, they created a series of successful albums and singles in the early 1960s, contributing to the "surf rock" genre. Funicello's wholesome image and catchy tunes made her a beloved teen idol during this time. Annette with The Afterbeats left a lasting impact on the music industry and pop culture of the era.
