Annette Funicello, known as Annette with The Afterbeats, was an American actress and singer. She rose to fame as one of the most popular Mouseketeers on the original Mickey Mouse Club television show in the 1950s. Annette signed a contract with Walt Disney, becoming the studio's first official female star. She released several hit singles and albums throughout the 1960s, collaborating with The Afterbeats on songs like "Tall Paul" and "Pineapple Princess."
Annette With The Afterbeats successfully transitioned from a child star to a teen idol, starring in a series of popular beach party movies alongside Frankie Avalon. Annette's wholesome image and talent endeared her to audiences, making her a beloved figure in American pop culture. She continued to perform and make occasional film appearances before retiring in the early 1990s.
