Anthony & The Imperials is an American rhythm and blues and soul vocal group that was formed in New York City in 1958. The group's original members were Anthony Gourdine, Clarence Collins, Ernest Wright, and Glouster "Nate" Rogers. They are best known for their hits in the 1960s, including "Tears on My Pillow" and "Hurt So Bad." Anthony & The Imperials were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.


The group experienced various lineup changes over the years, with Anthony Gourdine being the consistent lead singer. Their music has been influential in the doo-wop and soul genres, and they are considered one of the most successful vocal groups of the 1960s.
