April Stevens, born Carol LoTempio on April 29, 1929, is an American singer who is known for her work in the music industry. She found success in the 1950s and 1960s as a solo artist and as part of the duo April Stevens and Nino Tempo, alongside her brother, Nino Tempo. The duo is best known for their hit songs "Deep Purple" and "Whispering."


Stevens and Tempo's collaboration earned them a Grammy Award for Best Rock and Roll Record in 1964. Stevens also had a successful solo career, releasing several albums and singles throughout the years. Her versatile voice and ability to sing various genres, including pop, jazz, and rock, have contributed to her enduring popularity in the music industry.
