Aretha Franklin, born on March 25, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee, was an American singer, songwriter, and pianist. Known as the "Queen of Soul," Franklin was one of the most iconic and influential artists in the history of popular music. She began her career as a gospel singer in her father's church and went on to achieve massive success in the realms of soul, R&B, and pop music.


Throughout her career, Franklin released numerous hit songs, including "Respect," "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman," and "Think." She won a total of 18 Grammy Awards and was the first female artist to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
