Aretha Franklin, born on March 25, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee, was an American singer, songwriter, and pianist who became known as the "Queen of Soul." Franklin began her career as a child singing gospel music at her father's church and went on to achieve great success in the music industry. She signed with Columbia Records in 1960 and later moved to Atlantic Records, where she released a string of hit songs, including "Respect," "Chain of Fools," and "Think."


Throughout her career, Franklin won 18 Grammy Awards, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1994. She was the first female artist to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. Franklin's powerful voice and soulful delivery made her one of the most iconic and influential musicians of her time. She passed away on August 16, 2018, leaving behind a legacy of timeless music that continues to inspire and resonate with audiences around the world.
