Arrested Development is an American hip hop group formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1988. The group was founded by Speech and Headliner, and also includes members such as Montsho Eshe, Rasa Don, Tasha LaRae, JJ Boogie, and Fareedah Aleem. They are known for their socially conscious lyrics and blending of hip hop with elements of soul, funk, and R&B.
Arrested Development achieved critical and commercial success in the early 1990s with their debut album "3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life Of...", which included hit singles like "Tennessee" and "People Everyday". The album won two Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. Over the years, Arrested Development has released several albums and continues to perform and create music that addresses social issues and promotes positive messages.
