Arrested Development is an American hip-hop group that was formed in Atlanta in 1988. The group was founded by Speech and his friend Headliner, and they were later joined by various members including DJ Timmy Gatling, Aerle Taree, and Montsho Eshe. Arrested Development gained popularity in the early 1990s with their unique blend of conscious hip-hop, soul, and African music influences.


Their debut album, "3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life Of...", was released in 1992 and was a critical and commercial success. The album featured hit singles like "Tennessee" and "Mr. Wendal," and won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1993. Arrested Development's music often addresses social and political issues, and they are known for their positive and uplifting messages. The group has continued to release music and tour, and they remain influential in the hip-hop community.
