Artist Bio:
Arthur Conley was an American soul singer born on January 4, 1946, in McIntosh County, Georgia. He is best known for his hit song "Sweet Soul Music," which was released in 1967 and became a popular anthem of the soul music genre. The song reached the top 10 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B charts, and it has been covered and sampled by various artists over the years.


Conley began his music career in the 1960s, recording for the iconic Stax Records label in Memphis, Tennessee. In addition to "Sweet Soul Music," he had other successful singles such as "Funky Street" and "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da." Conley's soulful voice and energetic performances helped him gain a following in the music industry during the 1960s. He continued to record and perform throughout the 1970s and 1980s before passing away on November 17, 2003, at the age of 57.
