Artist Bio:
Arthur Conley was born in 1946 in McIntosh County, Georgia. He began his music career in the early 1960s, singing gospel music in church. He later moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where he signed a recording contract with Otis Redding's label, Jotis Records. Conley found success with his hit single 'Sweet Soul Music' in 1967. He continued to release music throughout the 1960s and 1970s, but was never able to replicate the success of his biggest hit. Conley passed away in 2003, but his music continues to be celebrated for its contributions to the soul music genre.
