Arthur Prysock was an American jazz and R&B singer born on January 2, 1929, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He began his music career in the 1940s as a member of the Buddy Johnson band, where he gained recognition for his smooth baritone voice. Prysock went on to have a successful solo career, with hits such as "I Didn't Sleep a Wink Last Night" and "Teach Me Tonight."


Known for his deep, velvety voice and romantic ballads, Prysock was often compared to singers like Nat King Cole and Billy Eckstine. He recorded over 20 albums throughout his career, showcasing his versatility in genres ranging from jazz and blues to soul and pop. Prysock's music continues to be celebrated for its emotional depth and timeless appeal. He passed away on June 21, 1997, leaving behind a legacy of soulful and heartfelt performances.
