Arthur Prysock was an American jazz and R&B singer born on January 2, 1929, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He began his musical career in the 1940s as a member of the gospel group Fishermen, and later transitioned to a solo career in the 1950s. Prysock was known for his smooth baritone voice and emotional delivery, which earned him the nickname "Mr. Arthur Prysock, The King of the Balladeers."


Throughout his career, Prysock recorded numerous albums and singles, with his most popular songs including "I Worry About You," "Teach Me Tonight," and "When Love Is New." He collaborated with various record labels such as Old Town Records, Mercury Records, and Verve Records. Prysock's music spanned genres such as jazz, R&B, and soul, and he was highly regarded for his vocal talent and ability to connect with his audience. He passed away on June 21, 1997, leaving behind a legacy of soulful and heartfelt music.
