Artist Bio:
Asia is a British rock band formed in 1981 by former members of progressive rock bands Yes, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, King Crimson, and Uriah Heep. The original lineup consisted of Geoff Downes (keyboards), Steve Howe (guitar), Carl Palmer (drums), and John Wetton (bass, vocals). They released their self-titled debut album in 1982, which included the hit single "Heat of the Moment." The album was a commercial success, reaching the top of the charts in the United States and going platinum.

Throughout the 1980s, Asia released several albums and enjoyed continued success with hits like "Only Time Will Tell" and "Don't Cry." Despite lineup changes over the years, Asia continued to tour and release new music, with their most recent album, "Gravitas," being released in 2014. The band's sound is characterized by melodic rock, incorporating elements of progressive rock and AOR (album-oriented rock). Asia remains a respected and influential band in the rock music scene.
