Artist Bio:
Athenaeum was an American alternative rock band that formed in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1990. The band consisted of members Mark Kano (vocals, guitar), Nic Brown (drums), Alex McKinney (bass), and Mike Garrigan (guitar, vocals). They gained popularity in the late 1990s with their hit singles "What I Didn't Know" and "Radiance." Athenaeum released their debut album "Athenaeum" in 1995, followed by their second album "Radiance" in 1998.

Known for their melodic and guitar-driven sound, Athenaeum toured extensively and gained a dedicated fan base. Despite their success, the band faced challenges with their record label and went on hiatus in the early 2000s. They reunited for a brief period in 2011 for a few shows. Athenaeum's music is often described as a blend of alternative rock, power pop, and post-grunge, with introspective lyrics and catchy hooks.
