AWB, also known as Average White Band, is a Scottish funk and R&B band formed in 1972. The band's lineup consists of Alan Gorrie, Onnie McIntyre, Hamish Stuart, Malcolm Duncan, Roger Ball, and Molly Duncan. They gained international fame in the 1970s with hits such as "Pick Up the Pieces" and "Cut the Cake". Their music is characterized by a soulful sound with a strong horn section and tight rhythms.


AWB has released numerous albums throughout their career, with their self-titled album in 1974 reaching number one on the Billboard R&B chart.
