Artist Bio:
Badfinger was a British rock band formed in Wales in 1969. The band's original lineup consisted of Pete Ham, Mike Gibbins, Tom Evans, and Joey Molland. They were signed to The Beatles' Apple record label in 1968 and gained popularity in the early 1970s with hits like "Come and Get It" and "No Matter What." Badfinger is best known for their song "Without You," which became a major international hit for Harry Nilsson and later Mariah Carey.
Tragically, Badfinger faced financial and legal troubles due to mismanagement of their funds by their manager, resulting in two band members, Pete Ham and Tom Evans, taking their own lives in 1975 and 1983, respectively. Despite these setbacks, Badfinger's music continues to be celebrated for its melodic pop-rock sound and influence on subsequent generations of musicians.
