Barbara Lynn is an American rhythm and blues and electric blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter, born on January 16, 1942, in Beaumont, Texas. She is best known for her 1962 hit single "You'll Lose a Good Thing," which reached the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Lynn's music often blended elements of R&B, soul, and country, and she was one of the first female artists to play lead guitar in the 1960s.


In addition to her musical talents, Barbara Lynn was also a skilled songwriter, penning many of her own songs. She has been praised for her distinctive voice and guitar playing, which have earned her a place in the Blues Hall of Fame. Lynn's influence can be seen in the work of many contemporary artists, and she continues to perform and record music to this day.
