Barbara Lynn is an American rhythm and blues and electric blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter. She was born on January 16, 1942, in Beaumont, Texas. Lynn is best known for her hit song "You'll Lose a Good Thing," which reached the top of the Billboard R&B chart and the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1962. She was one of the first female artists to play lead guitar in the male-dominated world of blues and R&B music.


Lynn's music has been influential in the development of soul, rock, and funk music. Over the years, she has released numerous albums and singles, showcasing her distinctive guitar playing style and soulful vocals. Barbara Lynn was inducted into the Gulf Coast Music Hall of Fame in 2010, recognizing her contributions to the music industry.
