Basia Trzetrzelewska, known professionally as Basia, is a Polish singer-songwriter and record producer. She was born on September 30, 1954, in Jaworzno, Poland. Basia rose to fame in the 1980s as the lead singer of the British pop band Matt Bianco. She later launched a successful solo career, blending elements of pop, jazz, and Latin music. Basia released her debut solo album, "Time and Tide," in 1987, which featured hit singles like "Promises" and "New Day for You."


Basia's music is characterized by her distinctive voice, sophisticated arrangements, and catchy melodies. She has released several albums throughout her career, including "London Warsaw New York" (1990), "The Sweetest Illusion" (1994), and "It's That Girl Again" (2009).
