Batdorf & Rodney was a folk-rock duo formed in the early 1970s, consisting of John Batdorf and Mark Rodney. They gained popularity with their self-titled debut album, released in 1971, which featured their hit single "You Are a Song". The duo was known for their tight harmonies, introspective lyrics, and melodic songwriting.
Their music was influenced by the Laurel Canyon sound of the 1970s, and they were often compared to other folk-rock acts of the era such as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Batdorf & Rodney released a total of four albums together before going their separate ways in the late 1970s. Despite their relatively short time together, they left a lasting impact on the folk-rock genre and are remembered for their heartfelt music and soulful performances.
