The Bay City Rollers were a Scottish pop rock band formed in Edinburgh in 1966. They became extremely popular in the mid-1970s with their catchy tunes and distinctive tartan outfits. The band's classic line-up consisted of Les McKeown, Eric Faulkner, Stuart Wood, Alan Longmuir, and Derek Longmuir.
The Bay City Rollers achieved international success with hit songs such as "Saturday Night," "Bye Bye Baby," and "Shang-a-Lang." They were known for their upbeat and energetic performances, as well as their loyal fan base known as the "Roller-mania." The band's popularity waned in the late 1970s, leading to various line-up changes and eventual disbandment in the early 1980s. Despite their short-lived success, the Bay City Rollers left a lasting impact on the music industry and are remembered as one of the iconic bands of the 1970s.
