Artist Bio:
The Bay City Rollers were a Scottish pop rock band formed in Edinburgh in 1966. The band achieved considerable success in the 1970s with their catchy tunes, distinctive tartan outfits, and upbeat pop sound. The lineup of the band changed over the years, but the most well-known members included Les McKeown, Eric Faulkner, Stuart Wood, Alan Longmuir, and Derek Longmuir.
The Bay City Rollers found international fame with hits such as "Saturday Night," "Bye Bye Baby," and "Shang-a-Lang," which topped the charts in multiple countries. They were particularly popular among teenage fans and were known for their dedicated fan base, known as the "Roller-mania" phenomenon. Despite their initial success, internal conflicts and changes in the music industry led to the band's decline in popularity by the late 1970s.
