B.B. King, born Riley B. King on September 16, 1925, was an American blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Known for his soulful voice and distinctive guitar playing style, King was a pioneer of the blues genre and one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 and received numerous awards throughout his career, including 15 Grammy Awards.
King's career spanned over six decades, during which he released numerous hit songs such as "The Thrill is Gone" and "Every Day I Have the Blues." He was also known for his dynamic live performances, often playing over 300 shows a year well into his 70s. King passed away on May 14, 2015, leaving behind a lasting legacy as one of the greatest blues musicians of all time.
